For my blog post this month, I thought I would share a step x step post on how to utilize some of the gorgeous frames available from WOW. I have kept my layout quite simple so as to accentuate the Ornamental Oval Bird Frame (RWL100014) I have used.

Close up: Here you can see the gorgeous design on the wings of the bird and how the 3d effect is created by the layered chip pieces.

We recently surprised our kids with a spur of the moment trip to Melbourne… we arrived at the airport and pulled suitcases out of the boot and said “come on then” … they had no ideas they were going away or where they were going… one of the things we did on our mini break was the zoo… the kids loved it and where taken with the peacock.

On this layout I have used 2 Crafty Swirly Bird Branch which I have sprayed in Glimmer Mist in the colours that mirror that of the peacock.

Every year we have a Halloween party for the kids (and big kids lol)… This year grandma came as a wicked witch and looked amazing taking out the best dressed adult prize as voted by the kids…

I love scrapping Halloween as the photos are always so colourful… on this layout I have used 2 Crafty Broomstick Witch and Wicked Witch sprayed with black gold glimmer mist. The Boo title is part of the Peek-A-Boo Title which worked perfectly for this layout.

This month I thought I would share an all white layout with you … monochromatic layouts are fabulous for displaying your chipboard pieces to their full potential as there is nothing competing with them on the layout… with my pieces I have sprayed them with Huey’s Calico white mist … I have use the Rachelle's Swirly Border under the photo as the background of the torn window… then placed the Ivy's Squares under the flower clusters… and simply placed the A Laugh Title to the side… love how it has turned out…

the 3rd range I received this month from Anna’s Craft Cupboard as part of my DT kit was the October Afternoon Boarding Pass range… just perfect for my holiday photos… the first layout is the mandatory Movie World photo with Tweety… and the yellow and aqua of the paper range where perfect for this picture… I have made pinwheels and flags out of the paper so it all coordinates for a nice masculine layout.

On this second layout of the kids boarding the plane I have used more of the travel inspired papers in the range…

I am very fortunate to have been asked to join the DT over at Anna’s Craft Cupboard and this month is my first month… I have dreamed of being on this team ever since Wendy first started there and have been super envious of the amazing products Anna has in her store that she would send to Wends ever month…now it is my turn to be blown away by the DT kits I received…I have been sent the most amazing products to work with and these are the first of my layouts…

Flourishes–2 Crafty

This month I have played around with some of 2 Crafty’s gorgeous flourish frames. I have simply glimmermisted these with graphite and used them as the main focus on my pages. They are fantastic for highlighting the photos.

In my layout “the eyes” I have used Frame Celia's Flourish and part of the The Eyes Title. I have used gimmermist on both pieces and to create the background effect on the page.

For my layout “Crush” I have used Frame Lucy's Flourish … again simply glimmermisting the chip piece and using it as the focus of the page.

In my layout “imagine” which I have done for 2 Crafty I have used Flower Scene and Imagine Title. With the Flower Scene chip piece I have cut it up into 3 individual pieces and used them as the sprigs coming out of my flower cluster… the chip pieces have been misted in the 2 colours coordinating with the paper range I have used…this has given everything a very tied in look. The imagine title has had the same treatment and then I have doodled in signo stitches on it.

2 Crafty Butterfly 12” Border

I have had the chance to play with this gorgeous butterfly banner showcased by Kerryn here… I loved what she did with hers so much I have given mine the same treatment. Using a 2 toned misting technique and then I have used crackle medium over mine to give a more worn look. In addition I have used a couple of the Flynn's Flourish with the same technique with the 2 toned spritzing.

Life Long Friends–2 Crafty

Today I get to share another layout with you all using the gorgeous 2 Crafty chip pieces Corner Jacqui's Flourish and Life Long Friends Title … I have used Gimmer Mist in the 2 tone methods to give the pieces a coordinated look to match the new MME papers I got last week.

To give my layout a 3d effect I have layered up the papers using puffy tape and used the chip pieces in between the layers instead of placing them in top.

I have been playing with some of the a lil’ somethin’s we have made and here is a layout I whipped up…and I say that because it literally took me 35 minutes…which is unheard of for me …but everything was already coordinated so it came together really easily.

All the items on the page will be available on Saturday with exception of the banner as it is a variation of what we are selling…mine is made up of scraps. However other super cute banners will be on sale…

This year Ash lost his first tooth and it was quite an event in our house … got this fab photo and the 2 Crafty heart banner seemed to be the perfect addition to the layout… I inked the hearts in pinecone versa ink and then doodle around the edges … tied it off in blue paper twine…and mounted it with 3d tape.

Easter Eggs–2 Crafty

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter Sunday … my kids had a ball on the traditional egg hunt…which got me all inspired to catch up on the previous years photos…and it made me laugh when I found these 2 as my hubby has the same jumper on. So I thought why not do them in the same paper range and title them in date order.

The 2 crafty component on the layouts are Easter Eggs - Cut Outs. I have used chocolate glimmermist on the chip pieces and then backed them with coordinating plain paper to make them pop.

This month a friend of mine, Mel, got a cute little polaroid camera which takes these adorable little pictures (all be them true to polaroid nature a little overexposed) and so I really wanted to focus on the them and thought a layout with a lot of paper would detract from the photos.

I have found the perfect way to draw attention to the pictures is to use this very cute frame … its new and so fine and ornate that it is the most amazing embellishment for a simple page like this one. I have treated the chipboard with glimmermist and added some flourishes I had left over from a 2 Crafty tree.

BIG!!!! news …got offered a Design Team spot on the team of Australian Scrapbook Ideas Magazine so feeling a little bit excited about that.

This week I have had lots of time to play and was able to dig into my stash of photos that I have been meaning to scrap for ages.

On this layout I have used 2 Crafty Corner Whispy Vines to frame my photo and inked them back to make the colours in the photo pop.

I have also used my favourite 2 crafty alphas on the layout…these too are simply inked black to coordinate.

Easter photo catch up

This weeks 2 Crafty reveal has given me the opportunity to scrap some of my old Easter photo before it is eggfest again…For this layout I have featured the Parisian Border simply inked in black to make it pop on this bright layout. I have also used some of the 2 Crafty Alphas also inked in black.

Skull and Crossbones

“me mateyz” is a layout that I decided to use no patterned paper just some paint effect and a novelty doily… so I was able to showcase the Skulls2 chip piece as the main feature of the layout.

I have coated the background piece in black ink and the top piece in white paint. The 2 Crafty alphas have been spritzed with Glimmer Mist to give is the same tone as the kraft cardstock.

I know cliché!!! but she really is our little princess and we love her to bits… on the layout I have used the new 2 Crafty Filigree chip piece and Crowns. I have spritzed them both with glimmermist for some “princessly” sparkle.

Canvas

This week we put our house on the market and I really wanted to pretty up a bare wall we had in the bedroom… i have damask curtains in black and white and all white linen so I though to keep it simple I would stick to the black and white colour scheme.

In my lovely stash of 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces I found these fantastic ATC Georgian Frames that look like damask which were just perfect. Added to that in the new release items I received were these stunning Corner Arches . I simply added the Love-fancy piece and some of the Butterflies to complete the selection.

To create the canvases I added a little background stamping using my favourite grid stamp from Kaiser, butterfly stamp from Urban Lily and flourish stamps by Autumn Leaves. I then inked up the chipboard pieces in a permanent black ink and glued them over the design.

Back from QLD

Well my family and I have just got back from our QLD holiday yesterday and I have been all inspired to scrap some holiday photos… these ones are actually from our last trip as I have not had the ones from this trip done yet…

The kids loved meeting the superheros at Movieworld and I loved the colour inspiration opportunity it afforded me.

On the layout “flash” I have used 2 Crafty Alphas and Cute Cogs inked.

School Dance

Start of a new month and start of school for most kids… so I cracked out the end of year dance photos.

On the layout I used 2 Crafty Punctuation in raw form and Tickets which I coloured in with markers.

Some Savvy Challenges

Played along at Scrapbook Savvy this month first layout is for Anthea’s Sketch Challenge…

The second layout “the big chill” is for Sara’s Colour Combo Challenge… I have coincidentally used the first Stuck! Sketch for Jan for this layout but have not entered it there as Savvy have a rule that the layout be exclusively for their challenge…which is fair enough… but credit to the sketch site here.

Both layout have the gorgeous chipboard embellishments from 2 Crafty where I am privileged to be on the DT and have had my contract extended for a further 3 months which I am thrilled about.

Fine Snowflakes–Susan

I know we are in the heat of summer but I received these stunning Fine Snowflakes from Vanessa at 2 Crafty and just had to do a layout with them…

The photos where taken last winter. In Tassie we get lots of snow and the kids loved the opportunity to play with it making snowmen and throwing snow balls.

To alter the chipboard I inked with a coordinating colour and them added pearls.

So I was scrapping at Wends house and she had the most gorgeous kit from Storyboard Kits called “Giselle” …she had completed her layouts for the DT and had a few scraps left and she let me play with them …this is my layout…

Yesterday summer well and truly hit Tassie and we had a balmy 32 … it has inspired me to do a summery layout. This is my Eve washing my car in her oh so stylish gumboots…lol at least they coordinate .

I have used the Butterfly Banners from 2 Crafty and love the effect it has given on my layout.

This is my first post for 2011 …I hope everyone had a fabulous night and saw the new year in in style…I on the other hand was predictably in bed before the fireworks began…

I have also combined my 2 Crafty layout with a challenge being run at the colour room and have used their combo and sketch …

On the layout I have included the following 2 Crafty Chip pieces…

Birdhouse and Swirly Hearts along with an alpha set…

Ok here it is …I gave it a go again last year…
My “Useful” Project … a birthday date book , accordion card keeper and coordinating card set. All the flowers and leaves and items are hand made nothing pre-fabricated as I am not a product scrapper more of a technique scrapper.

My single page…recycled item was the tag from the t-shirt being worn in the photo/s… all photos taken by me and the photo booth effect was done in PS.

Double layout… about the past… yes all the photos are of me … lol not my twin brother the memorabilia is the bookmark with the bee on it from my first year at school.

So there you go my entry …

crinkly eyes

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas full of fun, friends, family and festive cheer. I certainly enjoyed myself and relived the magic of Christmas through my children's eyes.
